Yolanda and Jon Rock the Dress session

We had so much fun at this Rock the Dress session with Yolanda & Jon. Jon wanted to make sure we got to include his motor cycle and awesome bandana. Soooo…we came up with the idea of a little motor cycle romance story. There were lots of grins and giggles the whole morning despite the amazing heat. We did eventually manage to cool off at the beach underneath the Lake Worth Pier. I hope you enjoy the slide show as much as we enjoyed the session!

Melvin the Amazing Musician — Portrait Session

I recently had the wonderful experience of spending an evening shooting a portrait session with Melvin Quinones. I can definitely say it was one of the most musically enjoyable portrait sessions I’ve done. Melvin plays the saxophone…and quite beautifully, I might add. Of course, it does help that I love to listen to the sax. Even better is to get to listen to it in person. While Alexis & I were shooting, Melvin was serenading us with some awesome music! Melvin has shared the stage with Mark Anthony, Ednita Nazario, and Gilberto Santarrosa….some of Puerto Rico’s finest artists. Not only does he play the sax, but Melvin also is a music producer, song writer and keyboard player. You can follow Melvin on his Facebook page or Twitter. Keep your eyes and ears on Melvin, folks….he will be releasing a CD this fall!

Candice and Jon are Married!

Alexis and I really enjoyed shooting Candice and Jon’s wedding. Candice totally looked the part of the fairytale princess…her dress was beautiful and flowing, and she looked absolutely radiant! Jon was quite the handsome groom. The weather was our friend for the morning, and held out so that the outdoor ceremony went off without a hitch. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Addison House. Reverend Colleen delivered a touching and romantic ceremony…there were quite a few wet eyes in attendance. After the ceremony, there was more than just a few wet eyes. The heavens opened up, and it truly poured for most of the afternoon. We did sneak out of the reception to take advantage of a break in the rain to capture some shots outside. Over all, it was a magical afternoon. Congratulations, you two! Dawn’s Twins–Newborn Session

Maybe you remember Dawn’s maternity session I posted back in March? She was the fabulous looking pregnant lady carrying twins! Here’s a big welcome to Colton and Kendall!! They were born a little early, so we had to wait a while before they were ready for their debut in front of the camera. They were such troopers…and so was Dawn! A big shout out goes to Christie Lopez…she did a fabulous job with Dawn’s makeup once again…watch out Christie, Dawn may keep you on a permanent retainer! Kendall and Colton are growing so quickly, it will be fun to document them as they grow, so keep staying tuned in…you’ll be seeing more of them in the future!

Being a mother of newborn twins is hard work….just the time I spent with Dawn and the twins was an amazing taste of the reality of the amount of work involved in keeping up with feedings, naps, and diapers!

Dawn does look pretty amazing despite the sleepless nights and busy days! What a beautiful new mommy!!

Welcome to the world Colton and Kendall! Dawn, you have a beautiful new family…I’m so very happy for you!!! Love you, girl!

Liz & Josh’s Engagement Session

I met Liz & Josh at the Morikami Museum in Delray Beach for the start of their engagement session. The Florida heat was in rare form making the late afternoon sun feel like an oven. Needless to say, we became great shade seekers! lol Liz & Josh were great sports, and soon forgot about the heat as we looked for cool shady locations to get some great shots. After sweating it out in the heat, we made a brief stop for a quick photo op with their puppy…he became quite excited when he saw another dog in the vicinity…there was going to be no posing for this shot! Then we were off to the beach in Boca Raton. The wonderful ocean breezes did a fantastic job of cooling us off. Liz & Josh went ahead & took a quick jaunt into the water…I joined them only as far as my camera equipment would safely allow me. I had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon hanging out with Liz & Josh. They are truly sweethearts! I hope you enjoy their sneak peek photos! Stay tuned for their wedding photos in October…I can’t wait!

Kelly & Ryan’s Wedding

Kelly and Ryan had a beautiful, sunny South Florida day for their wedding. Did I mention that it was super hot? Thank goodness for air conditioning! Alexis and I had a blast getting to cover both the bride and groom getting ready for their big day. Planned into the busy day were “First Look” photos, a beautiful ceremony at Nativity Catholic Church in Hollywood, a military Saber Ceremony by Ryan’s fellow Marines (thank you boys for serving our country!), and a super fun reception held at Galuppi’s in Pompano Beach. Kim’s Fabulous Birthday Party–Purple Passion!

Kim really decided to go all out for her birthday party this year! She treated several of her closest friends to a fabulous evening of glamour shots which included a mini makeup session provided by Carmen of Shadows Makeup Artistry. As usual, Carmen did a great job making the girls look glamorous for their photo op! The theme of the evening was Purple…from the clothing, to the plates, to the cupcakes! I really had a blast getting to know each of these fabulous women, as well as photographing them. Believe me, there was lots of laughter and joking involved the whole evening. Everyone was raving about how much fun it was to get “glammed” up & have a mini photo session. It was truly a fabulous party! Can you see the purple theme in the photos?

Johana & Geoff–Wedding Photos!

Johana & Geoff had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in South Beach. Johana was a beautiful bride, and Geoff, by far, was the coolest groom ever…check out his awesome shoes! Despite a late start, the heavy wind blowing down some of the decorations, and a little stress, they both handled it magnificently. They looked so adorable exchanging their vows. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house (or maybe I should say outside by the water!). They were such a true joy to work with…such a happy, sweet couple. I can say that anyone who has the pleasure of meeting them will understand immediately that these are two very special people.

Are these awesome, groovy groom shoes or what? The groom & his dad, the Best Man, had them custom made.

Aren’t these colors gorgeous? The centerpieces were amazing. Too bad it was too windy to use them.

By night….I almost fell in the pool trying to get this shot of the skyline…it was super dark by this time. What a romantic reception!

Jackie & Fred’s Engagement Session in West Palm Beach

I have to say, Alexis & I had an absolute blast hanging out with Jackie and Fred! Fun, fun, fun is the best way to describe such a delightful couple….and so in love! It was truly a joy to be around such a loving and happy couple. We started the afternoon at Mount’s Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach. It was super hot that day…thank goodness there was lots of shade to be found there. There was a wedding taking place at the garden while we were there. I just love brides! Next we headed over to Palm Beach. We took some fun photos at the famous “blue door,” and the bougainvillea plant was radiantly blooming…what a pretty combo. We found a few other cool spots to hit….we even stopped for some Starbuck’s Frappachino’s & smoothies to cool off! And of course, you can’t go to Palm Beach without hitting the beach. Jackie & Fred were up for anything…even some water shots…what a great way to cool off after a hot day! We had so much fun at Jackie & Fred’s engagement session. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding! Enjoy their sneak peak photos from their e-session.
